Live there? Worked there?  You deserve care.

The United Jewish Council of the East Side (UJC) provides a comprehensive community outreach, education and referral campaign to let people know about the services of The World Trade Center Environmental Health Center which treats people who have health problems as a result of 9/11.  The Center has locations at Gouverneur Healthcare Services in Lower Manhattan, Bellevue Hospital on the East Side of Manhattan, and Elmhurst Hospital in Queens.  The Center works in partnership with community organizations and residents affected by 9/11.

The program is available to the following groups affected by 9/11: students in the area, office workers, residents that lived in lower Manhattan or areas of Brooklyn, clean-up workers, area workers, commuters and passersby.  Eligible patients can get treatment even if they cannot pay or do not have the insurance. Some health problems that might be related to 9/11 include persistent symptoms, such as: shortness of breath, coughing, wheezing, stomach problems, skin problems, depression, anxiety and/or nervousness.

To make an appointment for an evaluation, call toll free 1-877-WTC-0107.  If you live in Lower Manhattan, you can request that you be seen at Gouverneur Healthcare Services at 227 Madison Street, New York, NY 10002.  For more information about the WTC EHC, go to their website at www.nyc.gov/health
