Hear It From Our HHAs

Why Consider Becoming an HHA?

If you’ve had the honor of taking care of a family member or friend when they were at their most vulnerable, then you know how much your assistance helped, how much of a difference your compassion and skills made, and how much personal satisfaction and pride you got from doing such important work.

Does it sound like you? Then a career in home care is the perfect next step! You’d be starting from the strong base of your previous experience, and have the opportunity to add to your skills and knowledge through our agency's resources.

Meaningful Work

Providing peace of mind and comfort to vulnerable people, brightening their days, and supporting the family caregiver is a deeply important and compassionate profession.

Flexibility

HHAs can design their schedules around other life commitments. In New York, part-time schedules and weekend hours help provide a work-life balance.

Growing Field

With an aging population and more interest in aging-in-place, home care is one of the three fastest growing professions in the US — ensuring you stable work for years to come.

Union Benefits

Being a member of the union family brings many advantages: professional development, health insurance, education fund, and retirement benefits, to name a few.

“I've had a Home Attendant for about 7 years. I was her first client, and we became like a family, mother and daughter. She is wonderful. I wish to live for many years and for her to stay with me for a long, long time.”
